The Seychelles International Airport (SIA) has achieved Level 1 Customer Experience Accreditation by the Airport Council International (ACI), the global body for Airports. The presentation of this accolade was done on Wednesday 06 September 2023 in Incheon, South Korea during the ACI Customer Experience Global Summit. The accreditation was received by the Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA), Mr. Garry Albert.

The Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) recently promoted seven firefighters in a special ceremony held at the Fire Station located at the Seychelles International Airport.

The Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) hosted its annual Long Service Award Ceremony on Friday 7 July 2023 at Constance Ephelia Resort, Port Launay. The event commemorates 52 years since the landing of the first commercial jet BOAC VC 10 at the Seychelles International Airport on 4 July 1971.

The Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) held a short certificate presentation ceremony on Friday 16 June 2023, following the completion of the first phase of training for a group of aspiring Air Traffic Controllers, recently recruited by the Authority.

Three different security training courses were conducted at the Seychelles International airport in January, providing aviation security knowledge to SCAA staff and airport stakeholders to support the aviation security of the Seychelles International Airport in their efforts to meet the obligations of the National Civil Aviation Security Programme.

Seychelles’ Minister of Transport, Mr. Antony Derjacques, will join over 2,500 delegates from the 193 Member States of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and accredited international organisations to take part in the 41^st triennial ICAO Assembly, hosted at ICAO headquarters in Montréal, which runs from September 27 to October 7, 2022. Delegates include ministers, directors general of civil aviation, senior policy and decision makers and representatives of accredited international organisations

Departments within the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority presented for the first-time last week, a project whereby they build interesting concepts and objects that can be used by the authority, out of recycled materials.

Airport users may have noticed the newly branded information desk at the international passenger concourse area of the Seychelles International Airport, where customer service officers assist travellers and the public in general.

An increasing number of activities using unmanned aircraft or drones has been sighted within the flight path of the Seychelles International Airport, and its vicinities especially during weekends and public holidays.

The Seychelles International Airport and Praslin domestic airport are now equipped with a state-of-the-art system to record any communications, both voice and data from the air traffic control units for investigation and training purposes.
